    Garde welcomes John Tartaglia’s ImaginOcean

Light it up: John Tartaglia's ImaginOcean is a black-light puppet show that brings kids on an undersea adventure. The production is taking its first time around the country on tour, and it stops at the Garde Arts Center for a Saturday matinee.

The rest of the story: The stars of the show are fish puppets named Tank, Bubbles and Dorsel. These buddies set off on a journey, which involves searching for clues and singing and dancing (the music here runs from swing to R&B). Along the way, the trio of fish makes some new friends.

Who is the man behind the puppets? Tartaglia was one of the youngest puppeteers ever to work on "Sesame Street," joining part-time at age 16 and then going full-time two years later. He later earned a Tony nomination for his performance in the musical comedy "Avenue Q." He was on Broadway, too, in "Shrek the Musical" and "Disney's Beauty and the Beast."
