Eleanor Butler New London
Publication: The Day
Nov. 6 paper had a commentary by former deputy editorial page editor Greg Stone, "Bodenwein would have been proud," lauding the newspaper on its timely publication of The Day in the wake of the Superstorm Sandy. While I agree that the staff did themselves proud, I want to also congratulate all the carriers/motor route drivers who delivered the publication in spite of dangerous conditions in the aftermath, some as early as 4 a.m. I truly expected to not find my newspaper at my doorstoop on Monday (Oct. 29) at the 7 a.m. delivery time (anticipating that it would possibly arrive later in the day or not at all). But "Artie" came through, as did my nephew, John, even further south in New London. I would hope The Day sees fit to print a hearty congratulations to all their dedicated carriers who are so deserving.
