I would like to express my appreciation to the town of Waterford Department of Emergency Management, the public works department and the town maintenance crew for their assistance and generosity during the recent inclement weather.

Being a farmer and caring for hundreds of animals becomes an extremely difficult task without power. All of Waterford residents should consider themselves fortunate to live in a town where in extreme hardships we can rely on our tax dollars and the people that facilitate operations of the different town departments. They all came together and got the job done.

As for CL&P, my numerous calls went unanswered. The company showed a total lack of compassion towards animals and should be ashamed.

However, you taught me an important lesson. I learned to not depend on you the next time I'm without power for six days. I will be better prepared for the next outage by purchasing a better generator.
