A Massachusetts woman who failed to appear in New London Superior Court Thursday on manslaughter charges was incarcerated in her home state on methamphetamine trafficking charges, according to court records.

Dina Senibaldi, 28, was arrested in Chelsea, Mass., on Oct. 3 on multiple drug possession and distribution charges. She is being held in lieu of $20,000 cash at the Suffolk County Jail, according to a clerk at the Chelsea District Court.

Senibaldi, who had formerly listed an Everett, Mass., address, was living in Chelsea and was arrested along with 39-year-old Vladimir Sakharny, according to court records.

New London prosecutor Michael E. Kennedy said Friday that his office was notifying Massachusetts court officials of her pending charges here. Connecticut likely will place a “detainer” on her so that she would be turned over to Connecticut when the Massachusetts case is resolved.

“We will try to get her down here as quickly as we can,” Kennedy said. Senibaldi is charged with causing the April 8, 2011, crash on Interstate 395 in Waterford that killed Lisa Delprete of North Haven and seriously injured another man.

Senibaldi’s case was headed for trial here after she turned down an offer from the state to plead guilty in exchange for a six-year prison sentence. Her attorney and Kennedy were set to discuss the case with Judge Susan B. Handy on Thursday when Senibaldi, who was free on a total of $150,000 in bonds, failed to appear. The judge called her bonds and ordered her re-arrested and held in lieu of $300,000 cash.

Her attorneys at the Suisman Shapiro law firm in New London were unaware that she had been arrested in Massachusetts.

According to state police, Senibaldi was driving 100 mph and was under the influence of alcohol when the Dodge Avenger she was driving rear-ended a Jeep Grand Cherokee driving south on I-395 in the right lane, near Exit 77 in Waterford.

Delprete, a passenger in the Jeep, was killed, and the driver, Edmund Davis of New Haven, was severely injured. The Jeep flipped onto its passenger side and landed on a guard rail, trapping Delprete in the passenger seat.

Senibaldi has several prior convictions and had failed to appear in Florida to face prostitution charges, according to court officials.
