Montville boys' soccer team loses in Class M semis on penalty kicks

Middletown — Montville was ousted from the CIAC Class M boys' soccer tournament, losing to defending state champion Suffield 1-0 on penalty kicks in a semifinal Saturday.

No. 2 Suffield won 3-2 in the penalty kick phase. No. 3 Montville (19-2) was outshot 23-9. Jake Sorenson made 14 saves and Matt Staehle and Josh Handler converted on penalty kicks for Montville.
