Double the show at Expressiones

Published November 20. 2012 4:00AM

Expressiones Cutural Center showcases the work of two new artists in an exhibition opening Saturday. Gabriela Gamboa, currently living and working in Caracas, Venezuela, displays a body of photographs based on her experimentation in performance, video and multimedia installations. Ulises Urra Hernández, a Cuban artist working on his doctorate in art in Brussels, Belgium, shows a series of paper, photograph and mixed media compositions (including the piece pictured above). That series, still a work in progress, reflects the landscape and the social and natural environment of the Connecticut area.

The opening reception runs from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the center at 84 Bank St., New London. The exhibition runs through Dec. 19. Regular gallery hours are 2-6 p.m. Fridays and 10:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturdays. Call (860) 501-9ART(278).
