UConn junior guard Shabazz Napier was named Big East Player of the Week on Monday.

Napier averaged 19.3 points and 4.3 rebounds per game while leading the Huskies, who moved up to No. 21 in the Associated Press Top 25 poll, to three wins.

In an 89-83 double overtime victory over Quinnipiac on Sunday in the U.S. Virgin Islands Paradise Jam semifinals, Napier scored a career-high 29 points, including the game-tying lay-up with 4.2 seconds remaining in regulation. He went 11-for-12 from the foul line and added five rebounds and two steals.

Napier has led the undefeated Huskies in scoring in all four games heading into Monday night's Paradise Jam championship game against New Mexico in St. Thomas.

He is averaging 20.8 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game while converting 88.6 percent from the foul line.

After the Huskies return home from St. Thomas, they will be off until hosting Stony Brook on Sunday afternoon at Gampel Pavilion.

In other college honors:

• UConn's Breanna Stewart was named Big East Freshman of the Week in women's basketball after leading the Huskies to a pair of victores. Stewart averaged 16 points, including 21 in her collegiate debut against College of Charleston when she was 8-for-11 from the floor and added five rebounds and six steals.

• Coast Guard Academy seniors Keriann Mason, Catherine Walker and Karen Matic have been invited to play in the New England Women's Volleyball Association Senior Classic on Sunday, Dec. 2, at Babson College. The game is comprised of the top 35 Division III players in New England.

• Four UConn field hockey players were All-Americans. Juniors Marie Elena Bolles and Sarah Mansfield were named to the first team, while graduate student Louisa Boddy and sophomore Chloe Hunnable made the second team.

Women's basketball

• Freshman Meghan Fornaro had a game-high 14 points and had key steal in the closing seconds while classmate Andrea Barrameda had a career-high 12 points as Coast Guard beat Curry 55-53 in Milton, Mass. Fornaro and Barrameda both hit 3 of 5 from 3-point range to lead the Bears (2-1) to the win while Jamie Waterman finished with a 11 points and a eight rebounds.

Men's basketball

• North Carolina and Louisville have agreed to play in the 2013 Hall of Fame Tip-Off tournament at Mohegan Sun Arena. The field will also incluced Fairfield, Hartford, Richmond, Holy Cross, Hofstra and Belmont. No. 3 Ohio State beat Washington on Sunday in the championship game of the season's tournament, while eventual national-champion Kentucky won the inaugural event in 2011.
