Basic math: Art = Gift

Hygienic Art Galleries opens its "ART = GIFT" exhibition with a celebration and holiday party from 7 to 10 p.m. tonight at its location, 79 Bank St., New London.

This exhibit brings together local and regional artists to create small artwork and fine crafts for the gift giving season. All these handmade pieces range from $20 to $200, and people who buy a work can take it at the time of purchase. "ART = GIFT" runs through Dec. 23. Gallery hours are 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Tues.-Wed., 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Thurs.-Sat., and noon-3 p.m. Sun.; (860) 443-8001.
