    Make a Difference: Visiting Nurses

    NAME: Selena

AGENCY: Visiting Nurse Association of Southeastern Connecticut

SITUATION: Selena, 12, suffered rapid kidney failure following treatment for an illness that normally would have been only a minor inconvenience. She has developed many health issues related to her kidney problem, including diabetes. She takes several medications with devastating and unpleasant side effects. She lives with her father, mother, a teenage sister and brother. Finances are tight. Her mother doesn't work so she can care for Selena, who can't attend school because she is susceptible to infection.

WHAT IS NEEDED: Gift cards to Wal-Mart, ShopRite, Target, Stop & Shop, or for cash. Cash or checks will be converted to cash cards for the family.

TO DONATE: Contact Mary Lenzini, VNASC, 403 N. Frontage Road, Waterford, CT 06385; or at: (860) 444-1111.
