GOP remains robust, responsive to crisis

This is in response to the Nov. 23 letter: "Republicans have become irrelevant."

In this diatribe, the letter writer listed challenges confronting the nation: climate change, undocumented aliens, tax code revision, crumbling infrastructure and post- "serious weather emergency."

It is significant that he omitted the $17 trillion debt, an omission that can be construed as a tacit endorsement and his assumption thereof being a comfort for which he deserves the thanks of all of us. Perhaps he is envisioning the spectacle of former Sen. Dodd and retiring Rep. Frank weaving their magic with unfettered manipulation of the levers of fiscal control.

The Republican Party is robust and responsive to the challenges the letter writer listed which, with others beyond, collectively constitute reality. He might want to check his seatbelt.
