Groton — Six West Point cadets spent a day learning about supply logistics for the submarine force at the Naval Submarine Base Nov. 28.
Army Capt. Andrew Betson, the West Point instructor for the course “Sustaining the Force in the Defense and Strategic Studies Program,” coordinated the tour so the cadets would have a better understanding of the logistical requirements needed to support submarines.
The cadets toured the Reconfigurable Submarine Piloting and Navigation trainer, Damage Control Wet Trainer, Submarine Escape Trainer, Submarine Bridge Trainer and the USS New Hampshire (SSN 778). They met with Cmdr. Glenn Porterfield, the executive officer of the Naval Submarine School, and Ensign Patrick Coughlin, the supply officer on the New Hampshire.
The 'grinding' dance style has sparked controversy at East Lyme High School. Should this form of dancing be banned at school dances?
