Two classes graduate from submarine school

Groton - Two classes graduated from the Naval Submarine School Dec. 14.

Forty-one officers, "Class 13010," graduated from the Submarine Officer Basic Course. Ensign Matthew McGury, the course honor graduate, received the L.Y. Spear Award. Ensign Robert Graham received the Adm. Andrew I. McKee Award and Ensign John Fontaine received the Naval Submarine League Tactical Excellence Award.

Ninety sailors, "Class 13040," USS Virginia (SSN-774), graduated from Basic Enlisted Submarine School Dec. 14. Seaman Sean Yarber was the class honorman. Seaman Matthew Jewell received the Navy Core Values Award. Seaman Jared Johnson, the class leader, received the Heritage Award and Seaman Apprentice Jeremy Donaldson was meritoriously advanced.
