Christmas omelets in New London

Published December 26. 2012 4:00AM

Sherborne Stidfole of New London, at the piano, and fellow volunteers Linda Sistare of East Lyme and Sean Parrott of New London sing Christmas songs during New London Breakfasts' special Christmas sit-down breakfast of made-to-order omelets for the homeless at the First Congregational Church on Tuesday. Breakfast for the homeless is served by New London Breakfasts every weekday morning, and the Christmas meal was coordinated by James Stidfole. Omelets were prepared by Chris Leitkowski of Gaspar's Restaurant and Jack Chaplin of Chaplin's Restaurant, both in New London.

The NRA has proposed stationing an armed officer in every U.S. school as a way to defend against mass shootings like the one at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown. Do you support the NRA's proposal?
Yes, it's a sensible plan. An armed officer would serve as a deterrent and he or she would be able to stop an active gunman before more lives were lost.
No, I'm disappointed the NRA didn't come out with any serious suggestions.
Armed officers would help, but we also need stronger gun control laws.
