Coldplay in concert Saturday at Mohegan Sun

The British are obssessed by peculiar things. London gambling parlors, for example, are taking in millions of pounds wagered on which personality will be completely bald first: Prince William or Chris Martin of Coldplay.

You probably won't get any up-close looks for yourself at the Prince, but scope out Martin's dome Saturday at the Mohegan Sun Arena when Coldplay headlines.

Of course, there's the music, as well. The band's very good live, and they have a terrific stage show and effects. Melodic mope-pop might not be your thing, but Coldplay's damned good at it. Their latest album, "Mxyzptlk," came out in 2011. Oh, wait, Mxyzptlk is a character in "Superman." The Coldplay album is called "Mylo Xyloto."
