Waterford — Waterford and New London firefighters knocked down a fire at a 2½-story home at 93 Oswegatchie Road Tuesday evening.
No one was hurt in the blaze, but the house suffered significant damage, said Chief Mark Schenking of the Oswegatchie Fire Co. He said one resident was home at the time of the fire and was able to get out and call the fire department.
Responders fought the blaze for about 30 minutes, Schenking said.
The American Red Cross has helped one person with emergency food and clothing needs. Two additional residents of the home will contact the Red Cross today to discuss their needs after the fire.
Investigators were still trying to determine the cause of the fire Tuesday night.
