Route 214 in Ledyard closed while CL&P replaces pole

Ledyard - Route 214 (Iron Street) was closed about 3:15 this afternoon from Spicer Hill to Shewville roads, and will remain closed for about five hours so that crews could replace a utility pole taken out in an early morning accident.

Lt. Michael T. Finkelstein of the Ledyard Police Department said a single-vehicle accident with no injuries took down the pole, and Connecticut Light & Power crews are replacing it this afternoon.

The road is expected to reopen later this evening.

No other details about the accident were available.
