Gone country: Bucky Covington at the Wolf Den

"Idol" days: Bucky Covington - who sings at the Mohegan Sun Wolf Den Sunday - competed in the fifth season of "American Idol" (the season that Taylor Hicks won) and placed eighth.

Debut success: In 2007, Covington released his first CD, which debuted at the top of the Billboard Top Country Albums chart. A trio of singles from the release climbed to #11 or better.

Label trouble: Covington's sophomore album was supposed to be released in April 2010. Three singles released ahead of that didn't get higher than #23 on the charts, and then Covington's record label, Lyric Street Records, folded in April 2010. A year and a half later, he signed with E1 Music's Entertainment One Nashville label and released "Good Guys" in September. Among its songs are "I Wanna Be That Feeling" and "Drinking Side Of Country," a duet with Shooter Jennings.
