    H.S. roundup: Old Lyme boys beat H-K to remain spotless in Shoreline

Wynosky, wrestling at 126 pounds, won by technical fall and the Indians rolled to a 59-12 victory and remained unbeaten in the division.

    Old Lyme — Old Lyme High School overcame a sluggish start with a strong second half to pull away from Haddam-Killingworth, 46-38, in a Shoreline Conference boys' basketball game Thursday night.

    Leading by two (16-14) at halftime, Old Lyme outscored the Cougars 14-6 in the third quarter to take control.

    George Logan finished with 15 points and 10 rebounds while Matti Fuller had nine of his 12 points in the second half for the Wildcats.

    Old Lyme (5-1, 5-0) converted 13-of-17 free throws.

    In another game:

    • Tyriece Burke and Steve Sieczkowski each had six points in Norwich Tech's 59-23 loss to Hartford University in the Constitutation State Conference. The Warriors fell to 0-3.

    Girls' basketball

    • Saige Laquitara scored 10 points and had seven rebounds while April Littlefield added five points and Ashley Ziroli had three steals in Norwich Tech's 45-24 loss to Hartford University in the CSC.

    Wrestling

    • Unbeaten Ledyard, ranked second in the latest state coaches' poll, routed East Lyme, 81-0, in the Eastern Connecticut Conference Largue Division. Caile Johnson (160 pounds), Alex Hillyer (170), Kyle Perry (195), Ben Morales (220), Kevin McDonald (285) and Josh Rahal (120) won by pin for the Colonels (5-0, 2-0), who also accepted seven forfeits. The Vikings are 0-8, 0-2.

    • Jordan Kenyon won by pin at 160 pounds in Fitch's 57-18 loss to Bacon Academy in the ECC Large. Scott Kydd (126) and Sean Blais (170) also posted pins for the Falcons (3-9, 0-3).

    • Dillon McCarthy pinned Woodstock Academy's Matt McMerriman in just 44 seconds to clinch Waterford's 39-33 win over the Centaurs in the ECC Large. Trailing 30-27, Justin Lindblom's pin at 145 gave the Lancers (3-4, 1-1) at 33-30 lead and McCarthy (160) clinched it moments later.

    Jake Keating (195) and Noah Concascia (106) also won by pin for the Lancers and Chris Leffert earned an 8-1 decision at 170.

    • Montville remained unbeaten in the ECC Small Division with a 59-12 win over the co-op of St. Bernard-Norwich Tech-Wheeler. Stephen Rogers (120) Jake Caskey (132), Ian Concasia (152), Jake Schmalz (160), Patrick Bogan (170) and Mackenzie Mahn (182) registered pins for the Indians (6-1, 3-0) and Tommy Wynosky (126) won by technical fall. For St. Bernard (2-5, 0-3), Matt Dowler won by pin at 106 while Victor Calle (138) and Aaron Pelletier (145) won by decision.

    • Norwich Free Academy beat Griswold, 43-33, behind Joey Ballestrini (132), Cody Poirier (113), Tyler Courter (145) and Edgar Charles (160), who all won by pin. Jacob Martin (106) and Sean Doran (170) won by decision for the Wildcats (6-4).
