Groton – The termination hearing for Superintendent Paul Kadri was completed on Monday, clearing the way for a decision on his employment with the town in the coming weeks.

Monday was the last of five closed-door hearing dates in which school employees were expected to be questioned. Kadri, who has been on paid leave since May, is accused of intimidating, abusive and hostile treatment towards employees. He has denied the allegations.

Independent arbitrator Timothy Bornstein has presided over the hearing and, according to an agreement between the school board and Kadri’s attorney, will make the final determination whether there are legitimate grounds for Kadri’s termination.

According to the agreement, the two sides will have until the end of the month to submit briefs. A decision is expected within 30 days from the time the briefs are submitted.
