When's the last time you went to a square dance (and, no, watching an episode of "Andy Griffith" with the Darlings on it doesn't count)?
Admit it: you've NEVER been to a square dance.
Well, no time like the present. The New Apocalyponians, a Massachusetts musical ensemble nimbly acquainted with all the joyous nuances of "world hillbilly" music, will present their varied sonic palette through a Square Dance prism tonight at the Orphanage in New London. Caller Jennifer Steckler will conduct the proceedings, and New London's own acoustic duo, Dan & Liz, will open the show with excellent mood-setting tuneage.
Oh, and though the Orphanage address is on State Street, the door is on the back of the building in an alley. Follow the signs.
