    Officer Ley readmitted to hospital

Norwich — A city police officer who was shot multiple times during a confrontation with a suicidal man last week has been admitted back into the hospital.

Officer Jonathan Ley was listed in good condition at Yale New Haven Hospital on Monday, according to a hospital spokesman. The reason for Ley’s hospitalization, four days after he returned home, was not disclosed by the hospital.

Ley, 38, was shot during a Jan. 7 standoff with 30-year-old Jason Razzino at the Cedar Glen apartment complex in Norwich. Razzino fired at officers through the door and window of the apartment, hitting Ley multiple times, police said.

On Monday, the state Office of the Chief Medical Examiner said  Razzino died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest. The death was ruled a suicide.
