Mashantucket — Three people where stabbed early this morning during a fight at a home on Ephraims Path on the Mashanatucket Pequot reservation.

The three victims were treated at the scene and transported to The William W. Backus Hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, according to state police, who responded to the incident along with Mashantucket Tribal Police.

While state police originally reported that there were 100 people involved in an “unruly disturbance and altercation,’’ on Ephraims Path, tribal police later in the day said the number was closer to 30.

“At present there is an active investigation taking place with the Mashantucket Tribal Police and Connecticut State Police involved and it would be inappropriate to comment any further on this matter at this point,’’ Mashantucket Police Chief William Dittman said in a prepared statement.

No arrests have been made. Neither police department would disclose the names of the injured or the address where the incident occurred.

Tribal police were called to the home about 1:50 a.m. A fight broke out among three people at the party, according to Dittman, and state police responded about five minutes later.

According to state police, Troop E in Montville received a 911 call just before 2 a.m.  about a large disturbance in the area of Ephraims Path, which is located between Indiantown Road (Rt. 214) and Pequot Trail. State police said they found about 100 people involved in an “unruly disturbance and altercation” in the area and during the fight an unknown subject pulled out a knife and stabbed three people.
