The benefits of beer
Any time there's an opportunity to partake in a four-course beer dinner, few humans can resist. Furthermore, if the event is happening Friday at the fine Latitude 41° restaurant in Mystic, and it benefits Newtown's Sandy Hook School Support Fund, why, so much the better!
Courses include a beer-poached sausage sampler, ale and butternut squash bisque, horseradish-encrusted bistro steak, and wild berry pie a la mode. Each course is paired with a different beer from Shipyard Brewing - and the fabulous Cartells provide entertainment.
Tickets are $55 ($45 if you're a member of the restaurant's Mug Club). The benefit starts at 6 p.m. Friday. Latitude 41° is located at 105 Greenmanville Ave., Mystic; (860) 572-5303, mysticseaport.org.
