Celebrate the snake at La Grua Center

The La Grua Center Arts & Culture Series presents "Celebrating the Chinese New Year: Year of the Snake," an art exhibit opening reception on Friday, Feb. 8, from 5 to 7 pm.

The evening will feature an array of eastern influence and design, including painting, printmaking and photographic works. The opening reception also will include a visit from Mystic Paper Beasts, a Tai Chi demonstration, a performance from the Chinese Cultural Society and a sampling of Chinese foods. Entries from local artists will be on view, as well as a tribute display featuring pieces created by the late renowned artists Chaing Chien Fei and Charles Chu.

This event is free and open to all. La Grua Center is at 32 Water St., #7 Stonington Commons Community, Stonington Borough.
