Amherst, Mass. - Tori Salmon scored on a breakaway 56 second into overtime Sunday, leading Amherst to a 3-2 win over Connecticut College in a New England Small College Athletic Conference women's hockey game.

Conn College (9-8-1, 5-6-1) tied the game at 2-2 with 1:22 left in the third period when Olivia Farrell scored her third goal of the season. Courtney Dumont of Conn opened the scored 29 seconds into the game.

Molly Murphy, Julia Rodricks, Sam Schoeneberger and Shelley Moore had assists and Kelsie Fralick made 30 saves for Conn. Erin Martin and Madeline Tank also scored for Amherst (8-7-1, 6-3-1).

College wrestling

• Coast Guard sophomore All-American Nate Giorgio won all four matches to earn a spot on the All-tournament team while Mike Giorgio won three of four matches as Coast Guard placed eighth of the 14 teams at the New England Dual Meet Championships at Johnson & Wales University.

In the opening round the Bears beat Trinity 21-15 as Tom Porzillo (133 pounds) won 13-1 and Mike Giorgio pinned his opponent in just 1:52. Also, Mike Shermot won 8-2 at 165 and Marc Wagner won a 4-3 decision at 184 .

Johnson & Wales beat the Bears 28-13 in the second round. Nate Giorgio won 7-0 at 125, Mike Giorgio won 13-5 at 142, and Mark Howard recorded a pin in 4:50 at heavyweight for Coast Guard.

WPI then beat the Bears 25-18. Shermot won 5-2 at 165 pounds, Virgil Moreno won a 7-5 decision at 197 while Howard recorded his second pin of the tournament, this time in 4:12 at heavyweight.

Rhode Island College beat the Bears 27-16 in the seventh -place match. Nate Giorgio bumped up and won 4-2 at 133 pounds, Mike Giorgio won 11-2 at 141 and Jacob Balchikonis won 2-1 at 184 for the Bears (4-8).

Joe DiBella, a 1962 Coast Guard graduate, was one of five wrestlers inducted into the NEWA Hall of Fame.

College men's swimming

• Connecticut College junior Sam Gill had a second and third place over the weekend at the Dartmouth College Invitational. Gill was second in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 51.23 and came in third in the 100 butterfly at 53.41. Conn also got fifth-place finishes from Sean Paquette (100 backstroke) and Bo Martin (one-mile freestyle). The Camels finished fifth in the six-team meet with 384 points, but were the only non-Division I team in the field.

College women's swimming

• Connecticut College junior Julia Pielock had a second and third place over the weekend at the Dartmouth College Invitational. Pielock was second in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 24.31 and came in third in the 100 freestyle at 53.41. Sophomore Esther Mehesz was sixth in the one-mile freestyle. The Camels finished last in the seven-team meet with 168 points, but were the only non-Division I team in the field.
