New London — A pedestrian crossing Huntington Street was taken to the hospital Wednesday evening after she was hit by a car.
The woman suffered injuries, possibly to a leg, that were not life-threatening, said New London Fire Department Battalion Chief Keith Nichols. She appeared to have been crossing Huntington Street at the intersection of Williams Street around 7 p.m. when a Honda CR-V hit her. The pedestrian appeared to have been in the crosswalk, but it was unclear who had the right-of-way.
Waterford provided an ambulance as mutual aid because New London ambulances were out on other calls, Nichols said.
