    Mystic Ballet presents 'Dynamic Directions'

Last year, Mystic Ballet performed at Jacob's Pillow. Next month, they will dance in Japan.

But this weekend, they will be onstage in Mystic.

The troupe will present "Dynamic Directions," featuring Sergei Vanaev's modern take on "Swan Lake's" second act. For this choreography, he called upon his Bolshoi background but also his own creativity and sense of originality.

On the program, too, is choreographer Brian Enos' romantic classical work "The Watcher" and Lauren Edson's "Sun and Steel."

The Dynamic Directions production runs an hour and a half, with one intermission.

And here is something very cool: Thomas Tyrseck, who is an arts aficionado and Mystic Ballet supporter, wants everyone to get the chance to see Mystic Ballet in action. So he put his money where his enthusiasm is.

Through his donation, the ballet has been able to offer 75 discounted tickets for this performance - $10 for students, seniors and members of the military, and $15 for the general public. There's a chance these could be gone by today, but you can check with Mystic Ballet at (860) 536-3671.
