Blues-meister James Montgomery's last album came out a decade ago. Well, "From Detroit to the Delta" is the new one from Montgomery and his band, and they definitely enjoyed the recording process - no less than Johnny Winter, Aerosmith's Joey Kramer and Brad Whitford, DMC from Run DMC, the Uptown Horns, and James Cotton all guested on the disc.

There's no official release date yet, but the Montgomery Band has booked a series of "sneak preview" concerts where fans can watch the group and also buy signed copies of the CD - and one of these galas takes place tonight in the theater at the Olde Mistick Village Art Cinemas.

And, doubling the fun, the Chris Leigh Band opens the show, celebrating their own self-titled new album.
