    Schoepfer returning to Breakers

Former Waterford High School star Katie Schoepfer is returning to play for the Boston Breakers, a professional women's soccer team.

The Breakers selected Schoepfer in the second round as the 11th pick overall in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) Supplemental Draft.

During a breakout season in 2012, Schoepfer, a forward, was Boston's second leading scorer and ranked fourth in the now defunct Women's Professional Soccer League Elite with seven goals and six assists.

Schoepfer, a 24-year-old Waterford native, also played for the Breakers in 2011 and had two goals and two assists in 13 games. She made her professional debut in 2010 with Sky Blue FC in the WPS. Her resume includes national team experience with the U.S. Under-23 and Under-17 teams. She was an All-American at Penn State.
