Waterford — The roof of the JayPro sporting goods company at 976 Hartford Turnpike partially collapsed today under the weight of the weekend’s heavy snow, according to town and fire officials.
The Cohanzie Fire company was notified of the incident at about 3 p.m. Everyone got out safely, and the town’s building department responded.
Town officials across the region Sunday urged homeowers and business withnfat roofs to clear them of snow or risk a collapse with Monday’s predicted rain. Schools across the region, many of which have flat roofs, began to do that today.
