Susan Froshauer, a former Pfizer Inc. scientist who later became head of Rib-X Pharmaceuticals in New Haven, is taking the reins April 1 from Paul Pescatello as president and chief executive of Connecticut United for Research Excellence, an influential bioscience association.
Pescatello decided to step aside after 10 years at the helm of CURE to spend time on business ventures and policy issues outside the life-sciences realm. He will, however, continue to coordinate lobbying efforts for CURE.
Froshauer has degrees from Harvard University and Connecticut College. She currently directs the Technology Exchange Portal at the University of Connecticut's Office of Economic Development.
