Pawcatuck resident Cyra Morgan has been named one of 10 finalists in the second annual "Singer-Songwriter 2," a national competition sponsored by Guitar Center, the world's largest retailer of musical instruments.
Morgan will be flown to Los Angeles, where she'll perform with other finalists on March 2 at the Hotel Café in Hollywood. Along with other prizes, the grand prize winner will receive $10,000 cash, record a four-song EP with Grammy-winning producer John Shanks, and perform the song on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!"
Morgan's tune, called "Sanctuary," was selected from more than 12,000 submissions.
