OK, this time CL&P got job done quick

Congratulations Connecticut Light & Power. I have been among your most ardent critics of recent storm responses, and although I do not change my opinion about your previous efforts, or about how fragile the power distribution network seems, I also am happy to be the first to acknowledge extraordinary efforts when they occur.

At 8:15 p.m. on Feb. 7, with the storm strengthening, my power was restored after being out for about two hours. Bravo to the crews who were willing and able do the work in such quick fashion under arduous conditions.

Don't misunderstand me; I expect such efforts from the line crews. They are supposed to be the best and are paid a premium wage to work in less than ideal conditions. I am glad to see evidence that in fact they are the best and some hope that the work ethic and "get er done" spirit that has carried this country for over 200 years does still flicker.

Is there any chance that after the storm the same team that restored power in Canterbury could go to Washington and restore some common sense? Maybe at least bring some milk and cookies so the children can stop arguing and focus on solving the problems. Ken Haner
