Friday Night Folk brings in Lucy Kaplansky

You can rely on a rewarding succession of artists who routinely perform the Friday Night Folk shows in the Unity Hall of New London's All Souls Unitarian Universalist Congregation.

But this is a coup: this Friday, the series hosts Lucy Kaplansky, out on tour celebrating the release of "Reunion," her latest CD on the Red House label. The title of the record in part refers to the gathering of old pals/luminaries guesting on the project - among them Buddy Miller, Richard Shindell, Jonatha Brooke, John Gorka, Jon Herington and Eliza Gilkyson.

With a songwriting style that effortlessly fuses pure country and the New York City folk scene, Kaplansky's work resonates and brings together devoted and otherwise disparate fans.
