‘Premiere’ show offers multimedia melange

Published February 26. 2013 4:00AM

Yes, artists frequently paint. Draw, too! But there's a big, imaginative, arty world out there - as demonstrated by the four artists whose work will be featured in "The Premiere 2013 Exhibition" opening Friday at the Alexey von Schlippe Gallery of Art in the Branford House Mansion on Groton's UConn Avery Point campus. An artist's reception takes place from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, and Ron Crusan (mixed media), Debbie Hesse (environmental installations), Olivia McCullough (organic sculpture; her "The Briars" is shown above) and Gabriel Warren (earth-crust sculpture) will attend. Runs through April 14. (860) 405-9052, averypointarts.uconn.edu.
