Are you a good speller? PTO spelling bee needs you

The Marine Science Magnet High School PTO will hold its second annual Adult Spelling Bee fundraiser at 7 p.m. April 5 in the school's Great Hall in Groton. George Colli, of NBC 30, will return as the emcee.

Businesses, organizations, groups and friends can participate through sponsorship or by forming a team. Team fees are $100 and sponsorships are available starting at $100. Organizations and individuals also may sponsor a team by pledging financial support.

The three-member teams taking part in the competition will compete for trophies, prizes and boasting rights by correctly spelling a series of words from Merriam Webster's Word lists.

Food will be available for purchase. The Spelling Bee is free and open to the public.
