Norwich – The driver of a car involved in a one-car fatal accident near the Sprague border Tuesday afternoon has been identified as Keith Cassell, 42, of 40 School St., Danielson.
The accident occurred at about 2 p.m. on Route 97, also called Baltic Road, and closed the road for several hours.
Police said the initial investigation indicates that Cassell was traveling north in his 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe when he veered off the east side of the roadway. Norwich police and the Occum Volunteer Fire Department responded. Cassell was pronounced dead at the scene.
