Published March 07. 2013 4:00PM   Updated March 07. 2013 8:14PM

The following are events and activities that have been canceled due to inclement weather.

New London

A parking ban takes effect in the city beginning at 2 a.m.

The Department of Motor Vehicles announced all branch office road tests statewide have been canceled Friday, March 8 until 1 p.m., when previously scheduled appointments for that time slot and afterwards will be held. The cancellation is due to expected inclement weather and poor road conditions. Anyone with a scheduled road test can call DMV to choose a new date. The numbers to call are (860) 263-5700 if someone is within the Hartford area and toll-free (800) 842-8222 for those outside the Hartford area. DMV is also attempting to contact customers with road test appointments to advise them of the schedule change.

The Day incorrectly reported that state courts and Judicial offices will be closed Friday. The Judicial Branch has made no announcement regarding the weather, as of 4:45 p.m. Thursday.

Um, exactly when hasn't it been a golden age for corporate America at the expense of workers?
