Public hearing on New London school budget Tuesday

New London — A public hearing on the Board of Education’s proposed 2013-14 budget is scheduled for Tuesday evening.
The board will forward its $40.4 million budget, which holds a 1.5 percent increase, to the city’s mayor on Friday. A final budget review by the Finance and Audit Committee will immediately follow Tuesday’s public hearing.
The public hearing is scheduled for 6 p.m. in the auditorium of the Science and Technology Magnet High School.
The school board’s recommended budget is posted online at www.newlondon.org.
