Norwich — A Norwich woman was arrested Thursday after police said they found drugs and her toddler son in the car she was driving.

Sharon Ladd, 40, of 42 Newton St. was charged with possession of narcotics, possession of crack cocaine, possession of crack cocaine with intent to sell, possession of less than 4 ounces of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, risk of injury to a minor, driving with a suspended license and speeding.

Police said that at about 6:15 p.m., Officers Kyle Besse and Dan Collins ordered Ladd to pull over after observing her traveling at a high speed on McKinley Avenue. They found pre-packaged narcotics in the car, including 75 assorted pain pills.

Police said that Ladd’s 18-month-old son also was in the vehicle at the time. The child was turned over to a family member.

Ladd was being held in lieu of a bond pending her arraignment Friday in Norwich Superior Court.
