'Ant1-Her0 Project' moves in at Hygienic

Creating art of sufficient quality and quantity for a gallery show isn't easy - not to mention when you have to pack all of it up and move it to the venue.

Fortunately for Travis Gibbs, who hosts his first featured exhibition at the Hygienic Art Galleries in New London, he LIVES there. Or, at least, he's a resident artist occupying one of the facility's apartments. As such, it's relatively easy to move the component pieces downstairs for "Ant1-Her0 Project, Vol. 1: Duality" - a conceptual character study (above) wherein Gibbs explores the human condition through a specific character rendered through illustration, graphic art and performance art. Fellow artists Mattias Lundblad and Kim Abraham are also featured.

An opening reception takes place from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday in the Hygienic, 79-83 Bank St., New London. Runs through April 20. Hours 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Thurs., 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Fri. and Sat., noon-3 p.m. Sun.; (860) 443-8001, hygienic.org.
