New London to host announcement of National Coast Guard Museum; watch it live on theday.com

The city will host the formal announcement of the location of the National Coast Guard Museum, 10 a.m. Friday at the Science Technology Magnet High School, 490 Jefferson Ave. Watch it live on theday.com.

Mayor Daryl Justin Finizio will be joined by Adm. Robert J. Papp Jr., commandant of the Coast Guard; Gov. Dannel P. Malloy; U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal; U.S. Rep. Joe Courtney and other public officials.

The announcement also will include a presentation of the museum plans.
