It's the weekend! Live music! Let's everybody ... KNIT!
Interestingly enough, singer-songwriter Christine Lavin, headlining the Friday Night Folk series in New London, encourages her fans to bring along yarn and needles for a pre-show knit-fest. Beaders welcome, too.
As for the music itself, Lavin has recorded 20 albums including the latest, "Cold Pizza For Breakfast," and for years she hosted "Slipped Discs" on XM Satellite Radio. Opening the show is Middletown's Carole Capen Kargher, who's sung at Carnegie Hall and with Ray LaMontagne.
