Waterford — Entrance fees to Waterford Beach Park may increase this summer season as a result of a proposal by the Recreation and Parks Commission.
The RTM is expected to vote on the proposal to raise seasonal, daily and weekend rates at a special meeting at 7:30 p.m. on May 6. The Recreation and Parks Commission approved the increased fees at its meeting on March 26.
If the RTM approves the commission's request, seasonal resident stickers will increase from $15 to $20, and non-resident stickers will increase from $80 to $100. A second resident sticker and a senior sticker will increase from $5 to $10, but Waterford residents who are ages 65 or older still have the option of showing identification with date of birth at the gate and having the fee waived.
Daily and weekend resident fees will remain the same at $5, but non-resident daily and weekend fees will increase to $20 and $30, respectively.
