I am afraid that I find Sen. Andy Maynard's defense of his "No" vote on the gun control bill disingenuous. He claims that he voted no because he does not believe the bill "will effectively address the issues."
Does he really believe that the solution to gun violence is to solve all of "the complex underlying problems of our society?"
I will believe that he has a genuine concern for the victims at Sandy Hook when he stands up and becomes a champion for what he believes are effective solutions. Until that happens, I'll have to agree with columnist David Collins that his no vote was purely politically motivated. We don't need any more "there is no solution to gun violence" NRA sycophants in Connecticut.
It is time for Andy to find himself another job.
