Teens charged in Ledyard brush fire

Ledyard - Town police charged two teens, ages 15 and 14, with reckless burning Wednesday in connection with a brush fire Sunday in a wooded area off Captain Amos Stanton Road.

Damage from the fire was contained to a wooded area. Police said evidence gathered during the investigational pointed to an intentionally set fire.

Ledyard and Gales Ferry fire departments, as well as brush fire units from the Old Mystic, Center Groton, North Stonington, and Mohegan Fire Company responded.

The two teens, who are not identified because of their age, were referred to juvenile court as a result of their arrest, police said.
