Raise a glass to clean water at the Knick

Published May 04. 2013 4:00AM

During their studies in geography class, seventh-grade students at the Pine Point School Stonington were concerned when they learned about the scarcity of running and sanitized water in other parts of the world. They've decided to raise money to buy a well for an African village - and several local musical luminaries are pitching in. From 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday in Westerly's Knickerbocker Cafe, a benefit fundraiser and concert takes place featuring the Chris Leigh Band, Johnny & the East Coast Rockers, the Zingerz and Brass Attack. Seventy-five percent of the proceeds will go to helping the school fund their well, and food and drinks will also be available for sale. Tickets are $15.

The Knick is at 35 Railroad Ave., Westerly. For more information, call (401) 315-5070 or access theknickerbockercafe.com.
