GateHouse Media, publisher of The Bulletin in Norwich and dozens of other newspapers nationwide, reported another big loss last quarter.
The company recorded a profit miss of $17.5 million in the first quarter, compared with a $13.2 million loss in the same period a year ago. Net loss per share was 30 cents, compared with 23 cents in last year's first quarter.
Revenues of $110.9 million were down 9 percent. And advertising fell by nearly $8 million, despite hefty increases in digital revenues.
CEO Michael Reed said he is expecting a new marketing-solutions division to boost revenues in the future.
