New London offers spring food stroll

Published May 09. 2013 4:00AM

This is one of the best ways to experience New London: it's glorious mid-spring - warm weather, budding leaves - and you saunter around the city and tuck into restaurants to sample some wonderful dishes.

This, my friends, is how it works at New London Main Street's annual Spring Food Stroll.

On Wednesday, the tasty treats being offered include salmon cakes with lime saffron aioli at Dev's on Bank, teriyaki steak and cheese eggroll at the Bulkeley House, and BBQ pulled pork sliders at Kamp Dog.

By purchasing one button, you can nibble on food at all the participating venues. All told, almost 50 restaurants and shops are joining in for this stroll. Some of those shops will have discounts and demonstrations just in honor of the event. Musicians will be performing around the city, too.
