Mitchell baseball ousted from ECAC tournament

Kendall Helbert's pinch-hit, two-run double in the seventh inning Friday lifted the No. 3 seed Massachusetts Institute of Technology baseball team to a 6-4 victory over No. 6 Mitchell College in the first round of the ECAC Division III New England Championship in Cambridge, Mass.

The loss eliminated the Mariners (23-15-1) from the tournament.

Marc Dorsi and Kenneth Olszewski had two hits apiece for Mitchell. Olszewski also had two RBI.

Olszewski singled home Gavin LaLima in the first inning to give Mitchell a 1-0 lead.

Dorsi tripled and later scored giving Mitchell a 2-1 lead in the fourth.

Dorsi hit an RBI single and later scored on Olszewski's RBI single that have the Mariners a 4-2 lead in the fifth.

MIT rallied for four runs in the seventh.
